This unincorporated town in the heart of the Gold Country has retained its quaint country charm and atmosphere for more than a century. Founded as a mining camp in the mid-1800s, it’s now home to ranches and homes with ample acreage, as well as small neighborhoods and gated communities.
Shingle Springs is located on Highway 50 in El Dorado County, sharing many amenities with the adjacent community of Cameron Park. It is located 40 miles from Sacramento and 70 miles from South Lake Tahoe. The historic towns of Placerville and Coloma are just 15 miles away.
Shingle Springs offers a number of parks and an abundance of greenbelt and open areas. The community is served by Ponderosa High School and the Buckeye Union School District, which oversees some award-winning elementary and middle schools.
